About New Dawn

Our Uniqueness and The Continuum of Care Advantage

Part of what makes New Dawn such an effective program is our ability to support the entire recovery process by offering a complete  continuum of care, from medically monitored Detox and Residential Treatment to Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient, and ultimately Lifetime Aftercare.  These programs incorporate the education and experience of a diverse and multi- disciplinary staff. While New Dawn applies a cognitive behavioral therapy clinical model at every level of care, our programs are continually evolving and improving to reflect the suggestions of our stakeholders, those we serve, and the community at large. Additionally, a large percentage of our staff are members of State and local boards and committees so that our organization can participate in the development of State and local policy while also staying current on the behavioral health needs of the communities we serve. New Dawn also contributes to the education of our Northern California community through free seminars on issues affecting those struggling with substance abuse, either personally or in their families. New Dawn is also one of the few facilities qualified to treat dual diagnosed individuals so that anyone may receive treatment for psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder while recovering from alcohol and/or chemical dependency.

Our Commitment to Providing Quality Treatment

Although accreditation with CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) is strictly voluntary, all of New Dawn’s programs are currently CARF accredited substance abuse treatment centers. CARF is an independent, nonprofit body whose international certification is the hallmark of quality because of their high treatment standards and requirement that accredited programs have a recognizable system in place for program improvement that relies at least in part on gathering input from the persons served. Ours was the first program in the greater Sacramento area to be awarded this certification, a feat that demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality of treatment to our clients. New Dawn is also one of the few facilities qualified to treat dual diagnosed individuals so that anyone may receive treatment for psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder while recovering from alcohol and/or chemical dependency.  New Dawn's eating disorder facility located in San Francisco (bay area) was also one of the first to be awarded this certification. lifornia recovery center, located in citrus heights and Auburn, near to san Francisco, the bay area, and Tahoe
