Treatment Options

A brief description of New Dawn’s treatment options along with an overview of the program components is discussed below.

Adult and Adolescent Inpatient and Outpatient Services

New Dawn’s Detox, Residential and Outpatient programs are “client centered” and therefore specifically tailored to meet each individual’s needs in a private, comfortable setting using a clinically proven cognitive behavioral approach, a multidisciplinary staff, 12 step introduction, and free lifetime aftercare support. The major program components include a comprehensive clinical assessment, process groups, education groups, family groups, individual counseling, individual treatment planning, life coaching, spirituality groups, acupuncture, massage therapy, and equine therapy.

Treatment Philosophy

New Dawn understands that life experiences can play a major role in accelerating or triggering chemical dependency. Our clinical staff takes a holistic approach that addresses each person’s unique physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual struggles so that the underlying influences on the disease can be identified and addressed. In our experience it is this individualized, “whole person” approach to treatment that gives our clients the best possible chance at achieving lasting sobriety.

Dual Diagnosis

Between 50% and 70% of those suffering from chemical dependency are also suffering from psychological symptoms such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. New Dawn's dual diagnosis treatment program offers Psychiatric services in the form of Evaluations, Follow-ups, and medication management so that these related issues may be simultaneously treated. In many cases, dual diagnosis treatment is an important adjunct service makes transfer to a psychiatric hospital unnecessary and is included in the standard Residential Treatment rate.

Family Program

New Dawn recognizes that one’s addiction affects everyone around them, most of all their family, and therefore offers comprehensive support for family members in the form of Family Drug Rehab weekly therapy in a group setting where varying topics such as family dynamics and family dysfunction, the disease model of addiction, codependency, and introduction to al-anon are covered.  This Family treatment program is in place for both the adolescent and adult facilities.

12 Step Participation

There is no doubt that the 12-Step philosophy has assisted tens of thousands of individuals around California in maintaining their sobriety, and for that reason, New Dawn offers an introduction to 12-steps and encourages meeting attendance. Nevertheless, New Dawn respects our clients’ right to choose an alternative support group because we understand that lasting sobriety can also be achieved through other support mechanisms, and we assist our clients in trying the ones that work the best for them.
