Day Treatment (PHP)

For those requiring a higher level of monitoring and care, 6-8 hours of treatment per day is available five days per week. Individual psychotherapy, family psychotherapy and nutritional counseling sessions are included as needed. The program is designed for those who require additional structure, support, and supervision in order to sustain or stabilize their recovery process or for individuals who may be transitioning from inpatient or residential treatment.  PHP can prevent hospitalization for some individuals. We also offer an additional 3 hours in the evening that includes dinner for those who require even more support and structure.  Most individuals step down to our IOP Program after completing our Day Treatment Program.

Some of the services offered by the Day Treatment Program include:

  • Weekly Individual and Family/Couples Psychotherapy

  • Weekly Nutritional Therapy

  • Interpersonal Process Groups

  • Psychoeducational Groups

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Groups

  • Expressive/Movement Arts

  • Health Education

  • Experiential restaurant outings

  • Meal and menu planning

  • Food Exposure including meals and snacks

  • Weekly Family/Friends Support Group

Medical Treatment

While in the Day Treatment Program, you will continue to be treated by your primary care physician. Your physician will receive weekly information about your progress and medical state. In addition, you will be monitored while in the program by our Registered Nurse. The nurse will interact with your physician to ensure that you are receiving appropriate medical supervision.

Psychiatric Treatment

Upon entering into the Day Treatment Program, you can receive a psychiatric evaluation by our psychiatrist. This service is an additional expense and is not part of the daily rate.  Additional treatment by the psychiatrist will be arranged on an individual basis depending on your needs.

Education (adolescents)

For our adolescent clients, we will work with their school to develop an alternative program so that she or he can focus on recovery while not getting behind in their education. We even offer time during the day for them to do school work or meet with a teacher, if needed.

Lodging

If you are coming into the program from outside the Bay Area we offer no-cost housing in the beautiful Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, which is known world-wide for its elegant Victorian homes overlooking the bay, shopping, and culture. We also offer subsidized housing at the Marin Suites Inn.
